Another checkup done – no news is good news. Next blood/checkup is next year This checkup marks 5 years since my treatment ended! Another physical checkup, and blood test done in Geneva. No problems. Next checkup is Feb 2017 which will mark the 5 year of remission. Physical checkup done in January, no problems.
My checkups have now been moved to a yearly time frame. Small update – the CT I had in July is still clean. Next check up in January 2015, it will be a physical checkup only – no blood test required even. I had a checkup last week in Geneva. Nothing new to report. It has been 2 years since my treatment finished (January 2011), it already feels like a distant memory! I had a CT scan last week and met with my oncologist today. CT images are still clear 🙂 Bloods in normal ranges as well. Next checkup in 6 months, which is next year!!! Yay! I had my first checkup in Switzerland yesterday. The new hospital is pretty swanky and my oncologist is the head of the department. English is not a problem which is good as my French is a little lacking to say the least. The checkup consisted with solely a physical, no blood tests were performed. I am booked in for next July for a CT scan, with the plan to have annual CT scans (my last scan being July 2012). PET scans are no longer recommended. I am happy with this direction as the PET involves injecting crap into my body which I would prefer to avoid. A blood test to check liver functions/thyroid functions/blood counts will be done on the day of the CT scan as well. Too easy! I had another checkup today. Bloods were all within normal ranges, including the Eosinophils value (0.50) 🙂 Next checkup – date unknown at this point, but it will be on the other side of the world. I’m moving to Switzerland! I have an oncologist already in Switzerland and also have copies of all my blood work, letters throughout the treatment, as well as CDs containing all the PET imaging i’ve had done. Results from last weeks PET are clear. Eosinophils value is lower than previously as well (still a little bit high at 0.57), but nothing to be overly concerned about. Next check-up in 3 months, perhaps another PET in 6 months time. Had my PET scan on Friday (6th July) – not much else to say, it’s all very familiar to me these days. I was required to fast from 06:30 to 15:00 (when the appointment started). The scan finished at 17:30 – so I was pretty hungry after the scan was complete! My wife and I went out to a nice restaurant and ate, a lot 🙂 |
