I had my first checkup in Switzerland yesterday. The new hospital is pretty swanky and my oncologist is the head of the department. English is not a problem which is good as my French is a little lacking to say the least.
The checkup consisted with solely a physical, no blood tests were performed. I am booked in for next July for a CT scan, with the plan to have annual CT scans (my last scan being July 2012). PET scans are no longer recommended. I am happy with this direction as the PET involves injecting crap into my body which I would prefer to avoid.
A blood test to check liver functions/thyroid functions/blood counts will be done on the day of the CT scan as well.
Too easy!
